x Mangave ‘Spotted Borders’ – New plant variety discovered @ Peacock Horticultural Nursery

x Mangave is cross between an Agave and a Manfreda .  From this rarely occurring crossing of genera we already have some nice plants including Mangave ‘Macho Mocha’, Mangave ‘Espresso’, Mangave ‘Rio Verde’ and Mangave ‘Bloodspot’.

x Mangave ‘Bloodspot’ resulted in a cross between Agave macroacantha and a Manfreda sp.  In a flat of x Mangave ‘Bloodspot’ I discovered a variant that only has maroon spots along the borders of the leaves.  This characteristic seems to come true with all the pups as well.  So, I have decided to call it  x Mangave  ‘Spotted Borders’.
