Variegated Pampas Grass Blooms Stolen

Cortaderia s. 'Gold Band'
I took this photo a couple of weeks ago as my Pampas Grass (Cortaderia s. ‘Gold Band’ which is a non-invasive species) planted in front of my property was beginning to bloom.  This morning, I went out to find that someone had stolen all the blooms (fluffy white panicles).  I know it’s “just” a pampas grass and anything planted in front of my fence along Gravenstein Hwy S. (Hwy. 116) is pretty much fair game for pilfering, but it does not make me feel any less violated.
If you see Pampas blooms for sale any where in the Sonoma County (Sebastopol Flea Market, Farmer’s markets, florist perhaps) – please do not buy them and support this behavior.
Thanks
