New plants arriving this afternoon at Peacock Horticultural Nursery

Aeonium ‘Kiwi’

New plants today include:

  • Aeonium arboretum ‘Luteovariegatum’ (syn. Aeonium ‘Starburst’) (4″ pots) – Copper Pinwheel – Succulent of variegated rosettes on a 18″ stem.  Hardy to about 28 F.  Plant in full sun near the coast or part sun inland.
  • Aeonium haworthia ‘Kiwi’ (6″ pots) – Succulent forming rosettes of yellow and green leaves outlined in red. Plant grows to about 2- 3′ tall in cool sun/bright shade.  Hardy to about 25 – 30 F
  • Chamaedorea metallica (6″ pots) Small, slow growing Palm with fishtail leaves.  Grows to about 5′ low to bright light.  Hardy to about 25 F.  Great houseplant.
  • Dasylirion longissimum (5 gallons pots) – Mexican Grass Tree – Stiff grass-like leaves to 4-6′ long radiate from a woody trunk that can very slowly reach 6′ +.  Very hardy to 15 F and drought tolerant once established.
  • Dudleya brittonii (2 gallon pots) – Giant Chalk Dudleya – Succulent forming rosettes of chalky-white leaves to  12 – 18″.  Plant in full sun on coast or part shade inland.  Avoid overhead irrigation.  Hardy to about 15 F.

  • Echeveria ‘Perle Von Nurnberg’ (4″ pots)  – Succulent forming rosettes to 4 – 6″ with grayish brown leaves with pink tones. Hardy to about 25 F.  Plant in full to part sun.
  • Hakea laurina (5 gallon pots) Pin-cushion Hakea – Shrub or small tree to 12 – 20′ with white and pink fragrant flowers in late fall to winter.  Hardy to about 20 F and drought tolerant.
  • Haworthia glauca var herrei (4″ pots) – Clump forming succulent to about 6″.  Protect from frost in winter and water very little in winter,
  • Haworthia limifolia v striata (aka Miami) – Succulent forming rosettes to 4″‘  Not hardy to frost.

  • Leucadendron ‘Jester’ – Sunshine Conebush – Shrub to 4 – 5′ tall and wide with variegated foliage.  Plant in full sun.

  • Leucospermum ‘Brandi de la Cruz’ – Sky-rocket Pincushion – Evergreen shrub can be maintained to 4 – 5′ tall and wide with orange flowers in winter/spring.  Hardy to about 25 F.
  • Platycerium bifurcatum (mounted 18″) Staghorn Fern
  • Platycerium bifurcatum ‘Netherlands’ (mounted 12″) Staghorn Fern
  • Rhapis excels (14″ pot) Lady Palm – palm to 10 – 12′ and hardy to about 18 F.  great houseplant or can be grown outdoors in light shade.

  • Senecio radicans Fish Hooks (6″ pots) Hanging or trailing succulent to about 24″+.  Not hardy to frost and no full sun outdoors.
